All the talk about bringing democracy to Syria and caring for the Syrian people is a sham.
Like the invasion of Iraq a decade ago, the US is repeating the same allegation—chemical weapons—that observers see as preparations for an armed invasion of Syria. Recent reports of the use of chemical weapons in Syria are being touted as a “game changer” by top US officials including President Barack Obama. The Syrian government has accused Syrian rebels especially those linked with terrorist outfits of carrying out the attack to instigate a wider and more direct foreign involvement in the country’s ongoing mayhem.
Western regimes, especially those in Washington, London and Paris, have been moot in their response to charges of the use chemical weapons. It is absolutely certain that had the Syrian government used such weapons, there would be immediate condemnation and reaction culminating in an armed invasion of Syria. When the west’s own agents, such as al-Qaeda linked terrorists are involved, the response is very different.
US officials go to extraordinary lengths to distort the truth. For instance, Director of American National Intelligence James Clapper appearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee on April 18, while refusing to comment on British and French claims about the use of chemical weapons in Syria (the two countries also refuse to say who was responsible), alleged that the Syrian government “appears quite willing to use chemical weapons against its own people,” The Los Angeles Times reported today. The allegations are part of the US plan to attack Syria under the pretext of “securing” its alleged chemical weapons so that they do not fall into the “wrong hands.”
The Pentagon has already announced that it has sent 2,000 American troops to Jordan to train Syrian rebels. Informed observers say the actual number is 20,000 and these troops have been in Jordan since 2012. Next week, US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel is visiting the Middle East to sell weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Zionist Israel, of course will get these weapons for free, courtesy of US taxpayers (actually of the craven American politicians, not American people). The Americans have for years touted the “threat” from Iran. Such allegations are meant to keep the Arabian rulers, all of them dictators, frightened, and tied to American policies. Neither Saudi Arabia nor the UAE is capable of using any of these weapons. These will most likely be used by the Americans and their allies if the Syrian invasion materialized.
American officials have frequently admitted in public that if the Syrian government were to fall, this would be “a huge strategic loss to Iran.” The mayhem in Syria is part of US-Israeli attempts to undermine the resistance front that comprises Iran, Syria, Hizbullah and Hamas. All the talk about bringing democracy to Syria and caring for the Syrian people is a lot of hot air.
