An average Iranian consumes 3.3 lb. of ice cream a year so is it any surprising that the country should attempt a Guinness World Record for making the largest tub of ice cream in the world. In its hope to create this world record, an Iranian confectioner, Choopan Dairy, made five tons of ice cream in a tub measuring 1.6m by 2m.
The largest tub of ice cream in the country attracted hundreds of spectators at a ceremony held in Tehran, the capital of Iran, where the tub was put on display. It cost the dairy $30,000 to make this ice cream feat.
One of Choopan’s board members hopes that this new feat would help boost Iranian ice cream consumption. A Guinness World Records representative was also present at the event.
