What KFC Does Not Want To Tell You

It is nearly impossible for a person to never try a KFC. The restaurant is currently the world’s largest chicken restaurant chain and the second largest restaurant chain, the first being McDonald’s. Usually there is almost no change in the quality of the food or the menu for international outlets, and among many other reasons for its immense success, this reason also has a major role.
Most of the outlets of KFC are based on a franchise basis while only a few are operated directly by the company. These outlets have to buy the raw material from the company itself and also have to provide them with a certain percentage of their monthly profit.

KFC: What’s In A Name?

In 1991, Kentucky Fried Chicken permanently shortened their name to KFC. Officially, this was due to a disagreement with the state of Kentucky, but an urban legend quickly spread through the internet, claiming the fast food chain could no longer legally use the word “chicken” in their name because they don’t serve chicken, they serve… something else. It’s rumored that the animals that eventually become crispy strips and hot wings are genetically manipulated beyond recognition: six legs, no feet, no beaks, barely any bones. KFC called the rumors a silly hoax, adding: “Our chicken is purchased through many of the same suppliers that you might find in your local grocery store.”
